2018 Hotdish for Homelessness

You are invited to join us for Hotdish For Homelessness featuring the Looney Lutherans, a fundraiser to support Family Promise in Anoka County.  The event will take place on Thursday evening, September 20 at Lord of Life Church in Ramsey.

Family Promise exists because a network of local congregations and volunteers all bring their individual gifts, talents, and resources together. Individually it might not seem like much, but when it all comes together, we have a comprehensive response to family homelessness. To celebrate the community response to homelessness that makes Family Promise possible, the event will follow a Minnesota-style potluck theme. A dinner at 6:00 will include many traditional Minnesota potluck favorites, such as tator tot hotdish and jell-o salad, with a traditional church basement potluck décor and theme.

The Looney Lutherans are the authors of the (fictional) cookbook and lifestyle guide entitled “Use Your Food: A Guide to Healthy Living Inside and Out, From Our Kitchen to Yours, Eat Like a Lutheran!” Using music, comedy, and some help from the audience, these gals love to share their tips for living a long and healthy life, the Lutheran way.

“Charming, home-cooked, Minnesota humor…but you don’t have to be Lutheran to love ’em.”

All original material is comedic, family friendly, and interactive.

Funds raised through ticket sales and through a free-will offering at the event will be used to support the mission of Family Promise as we work to expand our services to serve more families in our community and make deeper impacts on the families we serve.
